From Farm Fields to Solar Fields — The Journey of Jared McBrearty
Jared McBrearty’s story is one rooted deeply in Connecticut soil—both literally and figuratively. A lifelong resident of central Connecticut, Jared learned the value of hard work early. At just 11 years old, he spent his summers picking vegetables on local farms and taking on small jobs wherever he could. By 16, he was already immersed in the world of construction, beginning with concrete work. Through dedication and a hands-on work ethic, he quickly climbed the ranks from laborer to foreman and eventually into supervisory positions across several companies.
In 2011, Jared took the leap into entrepreneurship, launching his first concrete construction business. Winters were often slow, leading him to collaborate with a close friend on interior renovations—a partnership that would eventually become the foundation for A1 Home Improvement. Over the past 15 years, Jared has transitioned increasingly into home renovation and real estate investing, particularly house flipping.
When he officially joined A1 Home Improvement in 2022, the company experienced impressive growth, scaling revenue by four to five times. Under Jared’s leadership, A1 has expanded its roofing, siding, and window divisions, strengthened its operational processes, and refined installation techniques. His contributions span marketing, sales, and training—areas where his mentorship has helped others grow both professionally and personally. A lifelong learner, Jared prefers a great book over television any day.
In 2023, A1 Solar was launched, quickly establishing itself as a trusted solar contractor in Connecticut. With decades of combined home improvement expertise and seasoned solar professionals on the team, the new division is already making an impact.
Beyond work, Jared stays grounded through family, faith, and community. He enjoys playing soccer with his 11-year-old son, who frequently joins him at the office and on job sites. He remains active in his parish, the Knights of Columbus, and charitable efforts supporting hospitals and individuals facing addiction—reflecting his commitment to helping others both on and off the job.
