 Jared McBrearty’s story is one defined by grit, growth, and a deep commitment to the people around him. A Connecticut native through and through, Jared has spent nearly his entire life in central Connecticut—working, building, mentoring, and helping shape the communities he calls home. His path into construction and entrepreneurship didn’t begin with a business plan or an office but with an unshakeable work ethic that showed up early.

Jared started working at the age of 11, taking on odd jobs wherever he could find them. Summers were spent on a local farm picking vegetables under the heat of the sun. While many kids his age were enjoying long school breaks, Jared was learning firsthand the value of showing up, working hard, and doing a job well even when no one was watching. These early experiences would become the foundation of everything that followed.

At 16, he stepped into the world of construction—specifically concrete work. What began as an entry-level job quickly became the start of a long, progressive career. Jared didn’t just learn the trade; he immersed himself in it. Over time, he worked his way up to foreman and later took on supervisor roles across several companies. His willingness to tackle new challenges and constantly improve made him a standout on every team he joined.

In 2011, his entrepreneurial journey officially began when he launched his first business focused on concrete construction. But like many in the trades know well, winter often brought slowdowns. Instead of waiting for spring, Jared adapted. He started doing interior renovations with a close friend—work that would eventually evolve into a partnership and later co-ownership of A1 Home Improvement.

Over the past 15 years, Jared gradually shifted his focus from concrete to broader home renovation and property investments. House flipping became a key part of his work—buying homes, transforming them through thoughtful renovation, and selling them to families looking for a fresh start. This hands-on investment approach strengthened his understanding of not just construction, but also design, project management, and real estate markets.

In 2022, he officially joined A1 Home Improvement, bringing with him years of field experience, business ownership, and construction insight. Under his leadership and collaboration with the team, the company has seen remarkable growth—expanding its revenue by roughly four to five times. Beyond financial growth, A1 has strengthened and expanded its roofing, siding, and window divisions, positioning the company as a trusted, full-service home improvement provider in Connecticut.

Jared’s contributions at A1 span far beyond operations. He’s been involved in marketing, sales, and enhancing installation techniques and procedures. His approach is rooted in the belief that quality comes from consistency, communication, and setting high standards—and ensuring those standards are shared and understood by every member of the team. Mentorship is a passion of his, and he takes pride in helping individuals grow not just professionally but personally. He believes deeply in continuous learning and is an avid reader who will pick up a good book long before turning on the TV.

In 2023, A1 expanded again—this time launching A1 Solar. The move brought together decades of construction and home improvement experience with solar industry veterans who each have more than 10 years of experience. Today, A1 Solar is already becoming a trusted name in Connecticut’s renewable energy landscape, offering homeowners the confidence that comes from working with a team rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and industry expertise.

Outside of work, Jared’s life is centered around faith, family, and community. He’s a member of a local parish and the Knights of Columbus and takes part in charitable efforts supporting hospitals and institutions that help individuals battling addiction. At home, he’s a proud father to his 11-year-old son. The two enjoy playing soccer together, and his son often spends time in the office and on job sites—just as Jared once did at that age, learning by watching and doing.
